Here’s part two of cleaning up my garden bed and bringing my backyard landscape back to life. The first thing I did was move these petite knockout roses a little closer together. That way, the boxwood would not infringe on the mini knockout roses space. And I like how these look right next to each other rather than spread out. The next step was to rehedge and remove any remaining weeds or grass out of the flower bed as much as I could. After adding top soil and mulch, I watered in the mini knockout rows that I had transplanted really thoroughly. I may trim the top as well to match the new smaller root system. Finally, I watered the rest of the flower bed. And then I took a step back to look over everything. And I’m happy with how this turned out. It looks much neater. It looks manicured. And it’s going to be ready for the fall. So, the next step is for me to do the five or six other flower beds remaining in my backyard to really give my backyard a complete makeover.
