A beloved East Yorkshire beauty spot is offering free entry for almost six months over the autumn and winter. Sewerby Gardens is free to enter from today (Monday, September 29) until Friday, March 27 – except for during the October half term.
Throughout this period, the Gardens will be free to enter every day, offering people the chance to appreciate the autumnal hues and crisp winter scenes. It’s an ideal time for a tranquil day out, exploring the estate and taking part in the diverse array of forthcoming events.
Standard admission fees will be in effect from Saturday, October 25 to Sunday, November 2. The zoo will continue to be open daily, with admission charges applicable. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Welcome Centre.
Daily feedings offer an opportunity to learn more about the animals directly from the zookeepers.
Sewerby Hall House will only be open on weekends, except during the October half term when it will be open daily. This provides visitors with the opportunity to delve into Sewerby’s rich history and explore the exhibitions on display.
Standard admission charges apply, and tickets can be bought online or at the Welcome Centre. The Clock Tower Café will stay open daily, serving beverages, snacks and meals.
Dogs are welcomed in the gardens but must be kept on a lead at all times.
The autumn and winter seasons at Sewerby are packed with a variety of activities and events, including Walking For Health sessions, Parkrun every Saturday morning, creative workshops such as Peony and Primrose, and the Winter Woodland experience.

“Whether you’re enjoying a peaceful walk, exploring the zoo, or joining a creative workshop, there’s something for everyone at Sewerby Hall and Gardens this season.”
