Hi there, I live in west Tennessee and I found this vine producing these fruits. I've been waiting on them to mature before picking them but these three were found the other day on the ground.
The skin is soft and very thin, if I gently push down it makes a small dent. Sorta soft like peach skin, and it gives off a pleasant smell. Sorta earthy, green apple esc

    It looks like an unripe Passion fruit. Edit: Probably ripe Maypop, Passiflora incarnata.

    Why not take a picture of the plant it was growing on? that may help with identification.
