Newbie here… got this (fairly fat) split rock about a month ago. Took it out of its organic only nursery soil and repotted in well draining soil as seen (it’s super dry AZ climate, so recommendations were to add a little more organics than in other climates- soil measures on the very dry side of dry). Haven’t dared to look at it or even think the word wter around it (read a lot about how they are very fuzzy with even just thoughts about hydration). The outer leaves are now getting a little soft and the inside of the split is changing from very smooth to a-little not-that-smooth-any-more. Here’s my question: is that the kind of “wrinkly” people are mentioning when it’s time to *water? Or do I just leave it? I just don’t have an idea how a “wrinkly and thirsty” split rock looks like. Any help is appreciated. Please be kind. Thank you

Ignore the outer leaves and feel the inner/largest leaves — if they feel firm, then hold off, but if they feel soft, then water. That rule has served me well for a couple years so far, anyway! 🙂
