Pick up will be done between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on specific dates in each neighbourhood

The City of Trail has released its 2025 fall yard and garden waste collection schedule, with pickup beginning Oct. 20 in Glenmerry and Waneta.

Collections will run through to Nov. 6, covering neighbourhoods including Miral Heights, Shaver’s Bench, East Trail, Sunningdale, West Trail and Tadanac.

Crews will pass through each area only once on the specified dates, and residents are required to have their materials ready by 7 a.m. on the first scheduled day.

The city reminds residents that only yard and garden waste such as leaves, grass, and branches up to six inches in diameter will be accepted.

All materials must be placed in compostable kraft paper bags, while branches must be tied in short bundles no longer than six feet, secured with cotton or fibre-based string.

The maximum collection is one cubic yard of refuse, approximately half the load of a one-ton truck.

Loose leaves or clippings will not be collected, and open burning remains prohibited within city limits.

Residents are asked to keep children and pets away from work zones as equipment may move unexpectedly and have blind spots.

Yard and garden waste should be placed along the property line or in the alley where applicable.

Materials left in lanes or at property lines will be regarded as collection items, and crews will not accept items other than those listed.
