WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Local gardening enthusiasts will have the opportunity to expand their horticultural knowledge through a series of educational Garden Showcases presented by NC State Extension Master Gardeners℠ volunteers of Wayne County during the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair.
The showcases, designed to provide practical, hands-on gardening tips for home gardeners, will take place over three days at the Wayne County Center. Each session focuses on different aspects of gardening to help participants make their home gardens flourish throughout the growing seasons.
The educational series kicks off on Sunday, September 28, with “Plant Propagation Made Easy,” where attendees will learn techniques for multiplying their favorite plants. On Tuesday, September 30, the focus shifts to “Homegrown Strawberries,” covering cultivation tips for successfully growing this popular fruit at home. The series concludes Thursday, October 2, with “Herb Gardening 101,” an introductory session on growing culinary and medicinal herbs.
The NC State Extension Master Gardener℠ program trains volunteers to provide research-based gardening information to their communities. These experienced volunteers bring years of knowledge and practical experience to help both novice and experienced gardeners overcome common challenges and improve their gardening success.
Fair attendees interested in sustainable gardening practices, expanding their growing knowledge, or starting their first garden are encouraged to attend these free educational sessions. The showcases complement the agricultural focus of the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair while providing valuable resources for the local community.
