Hi everyone. I’ve been assembling a terrarium in a wooden cupboard that I found and therefore have the lights fitted exactly into the roof as there is a storage space above.
The problem is, the light is emitting way more heat than I was expecting (Arcadia Jungledawn lumenize). That’s not a problem itself as my thermostat will handle the temperature, but I’m worried that my snake might burn herself on the lamp once it’s been on a while. I can’t put a mesh as then the UV and light levels will be different than I calculated. Would it be possible to cover them with a piece of acrylic/plexiglass or something else?
If anyone has any ideas on how to make a heat guard here without obscuring any of the light or Uv that would be greatly appreciated!

It’s pretty much standard to put a mesh cage around lighting that’s installed inside. I doubt know of any other way.
