Hayes Garden World in Ambleside launched its Christmas season with a special event for loyal customers and influencers.

The event marked the beginning of a weekend of festive promotions, welcoming visitors to browse the Christmas stock and shop the whole garden centre with a 15% discount.

Hayes Centre Manager Keith Laird said: “Thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas preview at Hayes Garden Centre. The evening was a real joy and it was fantastic to see so many people sharing in the festive spirit.

“This Christmas, shopping at Hayes means more than just buying decorations; it’s about creating memories, inspiring gifts and bringing a little bit of sparkle to every home.”

Hayes Garden World, on Lakeside Road, is the newest addition to the 73 garden centres run by British Garden Centres, a family-run business founded by Charles and Robert Stubbs.

Organising the Christmas preview event at Hayes, Charles’s daughter Libby said: “We love Christmas and we’re so excited to celebrate that here with you all too.”

Highlights of the new season stock include a first look at the garden centre’s own Fern Christmas range, featuring oversized LED bulb displays, glittery frosted lights and tinsel dinosaurs.

A raffle was held during the evening, raising money for Greenfingers, a national children’s charity creating therapeutic gardens for life-limited children and their families and carers.

Guests included British Garden Centres Family Card holders, a membership that offers loyal customers exclusive access to events, competitions and discounts.
