With the recent update to the Zen Event in Roblox’s Grow a Garden, it’s not just about being Tranquil anymore, as a new mutation has arrived: Corrupt. You’ll want to harvest plenty of Corrupt fruits so that you can progress through the new Zen content for all new rewards, but how do you get this new mutation?

Roblox: Grow A Garden – Zen Event Guide
Here’s everything you need to know about the Zen Event in Roblox’s Grow a Garden.
Similar to the Tranquil mutation, there are a few ways to get this mutation, and if you log on at the wrong time, you might just wonder if it’s even possible. Here’s everything you need to know.
Corrupt Zen Aura Event
Now every hour on the hour, the Zen Aura event that usually takes place has a chance to be the Corrupted Zen Aura event instead. Either way, this weather effect will last for ten minutes and work in the same way.
For the Corrupted Zen Aura event, red balls of light shoot out from the Corrupted Zen area in the middle of the map and will apply the Corrupt mutation to fruits in your garden. Depending on how much you have grown your corrupted tree by giving the Corrupted Channeller what he wants each hour, you will have more balls of Corrupted Zen mutate the fruit in your garden.
It’s very clear when this is happening as the weather effect will show leaves and strange clouds in an almost cylinder-like shape around the map. If the sky is red, it’s the Corrupt Zen Aura event; if the sky is blue, it’s the Zen Aura event.
Corrupt Pet Mutation, Spray, Or Staff
Corrupted Kodama
One of the new pets has a natural Corrupt ability, and that’s the Corrupted Kodama, which gives a 4.20 percent chance of applying the Corrupt mutation when you collect Zen-type fruit. This is a possible reward from the Corrupt Channeller.
Pet Mutation Shard Corrupted
You can also purchase the Pet Mutation Shard Corrupted from the Zen Shop for 350 Chi or 289 Robux.
You can then use this to apply the Corrupt mutation to a pet of your choice, which turns it red and gives it the ability to apply the Corrupt mutation to a fruit every 24.45m.
We assume that, as this is listed in the same area as the Pet Mutation Shard Tranquil, you will also need to grow the Zen Channeller’s tree seven times to unlock this item in the store. If you purchase it with Robux, it ignores the unlock requirements.
You can also obtain the Corrupt Mutation by using the Pet Mutation machine, but there is only a 3.02 percent chance you’ll get it.
Mutation Spray Corrupt
You can also use the Corrupt Mutation Spray to give crops in your garden the Corrupt mutation.
These can be used once each and can be earned as a reward from the Corrupt Channeller by upgrading the tree either with shackles or the fruit he requests. There is an 8.7 percent chance of receiving this reward.
Corrupt Staff
There is also an 8.7 percent chance of receiving the Corrupt Staff as a reward from the Corrupt Channeller.
We have yet to unlock this, but we can safely assume that, like other staff items, it will grant additional Corrupt mutations when placed and will despawn after a certain number of uses.
How Can I Tell If My Fruit Is Corrupt?
As always, you can see which mutations a fruit has by highlighting and seeing which are listed below its name. You can also see if it’s Corrupt at a glance because the fruit will be off-colour from usual and have red sparks and smoke emanating from it.
Crops with the Corrupt mutation appear to have a multiplier of 20 based on our testing.
You can purchase three Corrupt Radars for 18 Chi from the Zen Shop, which will automatically harvest all ripe Corrupt crops from your garden, providing they aren’t favourites.
What Are Corrupt Fruits Used For?
Corrupt Fruits can be traded to the Kitsune in the center of the map. You must trade in an equal amount of Tranquil and Corrupt fruits to fill the circle on either side of it to receive a Kitsune Chest as a reward.
