I’ve had a LOT of juvenile cooper hawks around my property this year for some reason and they are definitely in that “finding out” stage as someone else put it haha.
One of them tried to dive on my chickens but forgot about the hardware cloth in between it and the chickens. That resulted in a half stunned hawk sitting stumped outside the coop for a few minutes 😂

His face clearly says this is not how he thought his day was going to go 😆

You’re braver than me! Caught one in the coop a couple years ago, but I put on welding gloves and a chainsaw helmet!

Just a reminder birds of prey are protected and it’s a federal offense to harm them. Sucks they got your birds but please let them go unharmed. They are only doing their natural duty.

PSA: These are federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
For those who were unaware, we can not hunt, capture, kill, possess, sell, or transport them in any way.
