This tree has been like this for many years. I bought the property over 3 years ago but neighbours say the tree has been like this for years before (there wasn't a fence previously).
A tree surgeon came over a couple years ago and pointed out the wound saying it looks like there was maybe a fireplace next to it in the past when it was younger which damaged it. Didn't say anything else though.
Should I be concerned about the trees structural integrity? For reference, I was toldnthis tree is likely around 250 years old and is over 100ft tall. It would be a shame to lose it.
