I got this about three weeks ago and it’s drooping. I water only when it’s dry, it’s directly under a plant light. Any suggestions?

They don’t like being dried out, but also not being constantly wet. Alocasias are often hard to take care of before you know how to do it, and they kill leaves the moment they are unhappy.

Light, temperature and humidity changes make them droop and lose leaves. They need a consistent and humid environment, more fertilizer than most plants, and the right amount of watering (which is different for different plants/environments)

I like to have my alocasias in semi hydro instead of soil since it helps keep watering consistent.

Alocasias… they hate to be alive.

What plant light is it under? It might not be strong enough.

As someone else mentioned it just looks a bit thirsty. Terracotta pots will wick the water and make it evaporate faster so when you do water, water deep and fully, try not to compensate with watering more frequently. If you keep it in too dry in this state it will enter dormancy like they naturally do in the wild during dry spells, and mine personally never wake back up lol

This one looks like it wants a drink. Alocasias can also look away from the light if it’s too strong but I don’t think it’s in this case. I never let them fully dry out. Terracotta/clay pots evaporate water much waster compared to plastic ones so you might need to water it couple times a week.

    I tried 2 and can’t keep them 6 months. A difficult plant

It’s an allocasia, it hates all humans.
