Join Emily Hockaday for a generative poetry workshop followed by a reading and open mic at the Queens Botanical Garden.

From 1PM to 3PM, poet Emily Hockaday will guide you through writing prompts and examples of poems that blend the natural world and gardening with themes of inner human life, social justice, and more. Walk away with new poems and an introduction to ecological poetry.

After the workshop, Emily Hockaday will read an excerpt from her ecopoetry collection I Dared the Storms to Come. Share your own old or new writing during the following open mic from 3PM to 4PM on the Terrace.
