Mark your calendar for Oct. 11 and join the Fort Bend County Master Gardeners at their Fall Vegetable-Herb Plant Sale.
Whether you’re new to Fort Bend County or long-time residents come and discover the wonderful varieties of vegetables and herbs for the fall/winter garden. Master Gardeners will be available to answer any questions you have about fall gardening.
Master Gardeners are offering varieties of fall vegetables and herbs recommended for Fort Bend County by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service or grown by Master Gardener volunteers in their own home gardens. For weeks now, they have been busy preparing for the fall sale. All plants offered at the sale have been grown from seed by Master Gardeners in their greenhouse.
Vegetable plants featured will include broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, lettuce, mustard, collards kohlrabi and more. Herb plants include cilantro, dill, parsley, salad burnet, sage and thyme. The price for plants is $3 each.
The sale will be at the Bud O’Shieles Community Center, 1330 Band Road in Rosenberg. Doors will be open from 9 a.m.-noon.
All proceeds are used to support the mission of Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Fort Bend County and the Fort Bend County Master Gardeners’ programs which provide research-based horticultural education to residents of Fort Bend County throughout the year. No funds are used to pay volunteers nor are these funds used for anything unrelated to our mission.
Wagons will be available for shoppers to use for their purchases. No wagons or strollers will be allowed inside the building for safety.
