I am fortunate to live in NC in growing zone 8a where many carnivorous plants thrive outside. It's starting to get cooler. I have one cape sundew, one sundew spatulata, and one butterwort (exact species unknown). Unfortunately I have no naturally sunny windows in my house.

Can I just leave them on my porch through winter?

What conditions would warrant bringing them inside?

If I need to bring them in, should I purchase a grow light for winter?

Thanks for your help! Adding pictures for attention, haha!

(Just so I didn't get reprimanded, I have moved my plants to a clear, plastic dish instead of ceramic since taking these pictures.)

I don’t believe any of those species need dormancy.

Honestly any night under 10C I would bring them inside. They might not go dormant but their growth would slow significantly, if not completely.

Grow light indoors is the way to go.

I lost some capensis and rotundifolia last year from leaving them out in freezing conditions but, I’m at like, 3700’. I’ll be bringing mine in this time.

my suggestion is bring them inside under a “good” growlight the species listed do not have dormancy.

    D. capensis can take light frosts but it is usually avoided. D. spatulata is similar.
The unknown Pinguicula looks a bit like a P. prinulifora. They like it warm.

I recommend a sufficient grow light for them. Sansi has some good ones.

Put in fridge one month bare root in sealed bag then take out and repot
