Advanced worm composting with certified composter

Sign up for the Advanced Worm Composting Symposium Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon, held outdoors in the gardens and orchard at the Live Oak Grange, 1900 17th Ave. The workshop will discuss the principles of composting kitchen and yard wastes using backyard bins and vermicomposting (worm composting) techniques. You will learn how composting will improve your soil and enhance the health of your plants and vegetables.

Composting also reduces organic waste going to the landfill thereby cutting greenhouse gas emissions and slowing climate change. Presenters are trained master composters or have comparable practical experience. These advanced workshops are open to people with at least some experience in the type of composting to be discussed.

Space is limited, so advance registration is required. After you submit your request, you will be notified if you are accepted in the class. Call 831-824-6484 or sign up online at tinyurl.com/CompostSign-Up.
