Giant vegetable growers are competing at the UK National Giant Vegetables Championships at the Malvern Autumn Show this weekend, with more than 65,000 visitors expected. Veteran grower Peter Glazebrook, 81, has entered 24 vegetables, including a 4.34kg aubergine and a 13.87kg radish, both personal bests. Amateur gardener Miles Yates-Tily brought a 27st pumpkin that took six people to move from his Bristol allotment into a car. Last year, 13 Guinness World Records were broken, and more could fall at this year’s event.
