Those look great!! So – I got a Boswellia sacra this summer. Super excited, from the Huntington ISI release. Tiiiiny dude with just a few leaves. I potted it up in 50% soil, 50% pumice, waited a week, and watered it. A few weeks passed and I was like “Well, I guess I’m just going to care for this dead little stick.”
Then I noticed the trunk swelling up and a few leaves grew in – excitement! I gave it morning sun (Oman! Yemen! Somalia! Very sunny, I thought…) / afternoon 50% shade and POOF all died. Went through the whole thing again, two more leaves, little morning sun, POOF dead. Now we’re on our third set of leaves. I’m keeping it in 50% shade in a very hot inland part of Southern California. Daily temps are in the 90s. I water it about once a week.
Do I just let it hang for awhile till it grows more leaves? How often are you watering your Boswellia? Many thanks for ANY guidance you can offer; I do great with Cacti but this is my first Boswellia and I’m absolutely flailing despite my enthusiasm about this freaking tree.
