Take a deep breath in, and breathe out all your worries and stress. Feel the wind on your skin, as you “observe your thoughts” and try to stay present… This is (kind of) what we do when we meditate, and it’s exactly what you can experience in this place.

After the devastating wildfires in January, Pacific Palisades was severely impacted, and this idyllic, lush corner was among the many places affected. But now, fortunately, this spot, considered one of the most beautiful gardens in the county, has finally reopened.

The Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) Lake Shrine garden is, a peaceful and stunning place founded by Paramahansa Yogananda. Covering several acres, it’s full of green trees, colorful flowers, and calm ponds. Paths wind around koi-filled lakes, rose bushes, hibiscus, and tall palms. Every corner is perfect to pause, relax, and enjoy nature, whether you’re walking, meditating, or just taking in the quiet beauty.

You can sit by the sparkling lake, walk over small bridges, or explore fountains and shaded spots. The golden lotus arch is a famous landmark and a beautiful spot for photos or quiet reflection.

Visiting the Lake Shrine is free, so anyone can enjoy its peaceful gardens. To help keep the experience calm and relaxing, you do need to book your place before you visit. Reservations open each week, and each car must have its own booking. This ensures everyone can fully enjoy the garden, whether you come to meditate, take photos, or simply go for a quiet walk.
