[Music] Okay. Hello everyone. And now that I have my formula and I’ve got the pumpkins, I’m here at one of my favorite places to be in fall and that is Bricks. I’m going to be selecting my pumpkins today and we’ll be pumpkinizing over the weekend. Uh but I’m excited. I’m I’m excited. It’s cooled down a little bit and they just have so many things to choose from. So, as I said in my earlier video, and if you haven’t watched that video about how can you decide how many pumpkins you want slash need in your front yard, then you might want to watch this after um after we take a visit here at Bricks. But I’m gonna follow that formula and I’m just going to start picking out beautiful, beautiful, gourds and pumpkins for my front yard on this signature style Saturday because if there’s a signature touch you want in fall, it’s pumpkin. So, what do you say? Let’s do it. Let’s do it. [Music] Okay. If you’re an experienced pumpkinizer, you know not to do what I just did, and that is grab it by the stem. You should always grab it from the bottom because you don’t want to compromise the stem, which I think is as important an element as anything in selecting your gourds. But that one I had to because I couldn’t reach. [Music] [Music] Now, this isn’t an exact science. I’m sure when I actually get these pumpkins to my house, I’m going to, you know, switch it up. But for right now, this uh cart right here is for my window box. Now, one of the mums probably will go elsewhere, but this is, and by the way, I am here at Bricks meeting my friend Jen. This This is a hearty green chrysanthemum, which I have not used before, which the gals tell me is just like that really bright limey green. So, I think that’ll be beautiful in the window box with uh some of the purples and some of the pinks that are there. And so I’ll probably I’ll probably put a couple of those in the window box and then just kind of sprinkle some gourds around it. So that’s kind of what I’m thinking. This is my one of my clumps. Um the window box clump [Music] Okay. Now, I am going to do clump number two. And that’s the stack of of pumpkins as a topiary that I want to do at the top of the front steps, right by the railing. So that is my next clump. [Music] [Music] Pumpkin selection is really important business. [Music] Okay. So, this is primarily my burm clump and my front porch clump. And these will just kind of I don’t know they they will just be kind of composed however they fit together. Kind of like puzzle pieces. But I want to take a break for a minute and when we come back I want to talk about um other flowering plants for fall and how I think you can get your best bang for the buck. Well, I hope you know that I only share with you products that I am very enthusiastic about, really believe in and use regularly and Omnilux is one of those products. And recently, it’s been not only something that I think makes me feel like I’m doing something good for my my skin and my skin hygiene, but also it’s an important element in self-care. And here’s my nighttime ritual that I find very comforting, especially after a stressful day. Let me know what yours is. But I run my bath and then after a nice warm soak, I get in bed and I put on my Omnilux. I find it comforting almost like an electric blanket because it feels warm and I know that I’m doing something good for my skin. But then I put on an Audible book and it is me time. I’m taking care of myself. I’m taking care of my skin. Recently I had and this is one of the reasons I’m so enthusiastic about it. Recently I had a rosacea flare up and sometimes after a flare up I get this discoloration on my skin and Omnilux with its red light therapy is just well first of all it’s FDA cleared to really help with that kind of thing discolorations in your skin fine lines and wrinkles melasma if you’ve got that kind of of a problem and just overall improve the texture of your skin and it also just improves my attitude because it makes me feel calmer. You know, I use this when I don’t have any makeup on at the end of the day. Kind of freaky looking. Um, sometimes when I’m just sitting during the day and I’m at my computer or something, I’ll put the one on the Omnilux for my hand because my hands uh I think are aging a lot faster than the rest of my the rest of my body even. And they have a new product out now that I’m very excited to try and that is the one for your neck. and your upper chest. This is one that I just received and I’m going to be trying it. But I think it’s just so important that we embrace this kind of self-care. It has really made me feel more confident because it makes my skin I I think just more luminous, more uh just more youthful looking. And I think that’s important. And if I can do that for my skin and I can also feel better about myself and less stressfree and a better attitude, well, I think that all of that is just a really great package in self-care. So, if you haven’t already considered using one that I really I’ve got and I by the way, I have a number of friends, my sister one of them who’s got this on her Christmas list. You might want to put it on your Christmas list as as well. And don’t get a substitute. you want this one and you can use the uh code on the screen with my special discount. So again, I only tell you things I’m really excited about and I am very very excited about Omnilux. [Music] Okay, so that was my topiary clump. This is going to kind of be my burm clump plus. So, some extra ones. This is the area where I’m not 100% sure, so I’m just going to do the best I can. Okay, let’s talk about mum buying. I don’t typically buy my mums early in the season. I prefer to wait until it’s a little bit cooler, but here are some mum buying tips. Number one, I never buy them when they are in flower. And at most there might be just one bloom on them so I can determine what the color is because I typically have a pretty strict color palette and I want to make sure that the ones I select follow my plan. So I never get them in full bloom. I only get them when they’re in bud shape. Then I check underneath to make sure that they are well watered. And this one has been well watered as is not surprising here at Bricks because they take such good care of them. The other thing that I take into account is are these going to be permanent fixtures in my beds after they finish blooming. So a lot of times I have some that I just tuck into the garden in and around pots uh mum tucks if you will. But recently, I have really tried to buy those that I will bury or that I will bury that I will plant into my garden after they’re finished. Consequently, I want to make sure that they’re going to match my color scheme. So, you’ll notice when they come into bloom that I have lots of white mums in my garden. And what other colors do I have? I might have some a few purplish ones, but they’re primarily white because those all I have to do is keep cutting them back till about mid July and then the blooms will wait to do their thing until fall. And I’ve got a bunch in the front garden that are getting ready to come into bloom. So, that’s another way to save money because it’s not just a oneot and you’re done. and you’re actually going to plant them and they will be a fixture and a contributor to your perennial garden bed well into next year. And here’s my question of the day. I am not a fan of many of the mums that are byolled in the same pot. They will have half of it will kind of be one color and the other half will be another color. And that just doesn’t do it for me. I am more of a purist. So I want them to be um whatever color but in totality not a byolored mum. The other thing is to look at different kinds of foliage. So this one is a red by color which is not doesn’t trip my trigger but I do love the foliage on that look. It’s a little bit different and more distinct than the foliage on the other colored mums. Another thing that I always check for is every year it seems to me that there’s new colors that aren’t available that haven’t previously been available. So, I saw, let’s come over here. This was a really popular co color with me last year, and that’s this color of peach. It’s kind of a pinky peach color that is well, let’s just say it would be appropriate for my garden tour. And this was not historically available, I don’t think, many years before last year. So, I might snag a couple of these peach crosanthemums. I’m also checking and it’s it’s almost impossible sometimes to find a mum that is completely intact, but to the extent possible, I want my mums to have no broken stems. Again, that’s difficult, but these because these kind of mums have very brittle stems, but nevertheless, it is something to look for. Oh, and she’s got these this year. Now, as much as I love the big pumpkins, I think I love the little baby ones even more. And these guys are absolutely adorable. I think these are just precious. I love them because they just they well, these really look like miniature pumpkins. They’re they’ve got this kind of rounded quality. And for some reason or another, these are the ones that remind me of Charlie Brown. [Music] [Music] And here you go. Here is my outfit of the day from top to bottom. My classic aviator Ray-B bands, probably my favorite pair of sunglasses. My earrings, um, I got at TJ Maxx many, many years ago. Real turquoise. Love them as I love my necklace, which also came from TJ Maxx. A gift from my sister. My top is I think it’s just maybe Old Navy or Gap or something. I got it thrifted. Um, I also got my belt thrifted. I love this belt. And I got this at my own Goodwill here not too long ago. This suede skirt, which I adore. I got at Target a million years ago. I wear it every year and look forward to it as one of my fall pieces that I can pull out when the temperatures cool. And my beat up equestrian boots. These are from Sundance. Uh God bless Robert Redford. Yeah. That we that we lost this week. What a what a good soul did so much for the environment and for young and emerging creators with his Sundance Institute. Um and then my bracelets are just an assemblage of things from this belonged to my mother-in-law and these others are just an assortment of rings and this belonged I think I can’t remember if that one belonged to my second mom or where I got it. But Stuart, have I forgotten anything? I don’t think so. Okay, one thing I I do want to point out and that is underneath my boots. I have on some really thick bombas socks and they make such a difference with I have heel pain in my right heel. A little TMI, but nevertheless, I I just noticed when we were unloading the pumpkins just how much better it makes my feet feel when I have those really thick cushiony Bomba socks on. There’s just a freebie for Bombas. So, there you go. So, as long as you’re here at Bricks, the other thing that you want to check out are all of the kales. Another classic element in seasonal color for the fall. These are absolutely spectacular and I adore them and I would use more of them, but I have such a problem with cabbage worms. Um, I still use them periodically. I might use a few more. I might even use Oh, here’s a thought. I might even use some of them inside where they wouldn’t be prone to that because I think they’re absolutely spectacular and their colors are brilliant. The other thing that I’m probably at some point going to introduce more of and that is aers. So they’ve got all sorts of this gorgeous let’s see what color is this. This is lilac sunset aster which would very much fit into my seasonal seasonal color palette both in spring summer and fall though these definitely are a fall component. And I also like them because I think they make really great cut flowers. There are native varieties. Well, there’s just so many different varieties of aers and they do tend to sprawl some and I think they need a little bit more room to roam than some other fall perennials, but nevertheless, you want to check those out. Um, likewise, here’s a tip. Stuart, let’s put up a little light bulb. I think the best time to get any kind of ground cover started is not spring but fall actually. Especially if you wait till it really cools down because that way they can get their root systems established before any kind of heat hits. And if you are looking for more auga like I’ve got if well just really any kind of ground cover for sun or shade, they’ve got a huge variety of them. Or if you’re wanting to put together some succulent pots or things like that of that nature as a Halloween container garden, then definitely you could find all sorts of things here. And then of course you just supplement them with some small gourds. Let’s go to the back and see what they’ve got in the way of veggies. Okay, back here is where you’re going to find your cool season vegetables, your collards, your cabbages, um your cool season herbs. I snagged a couple of pots of cilantro and some parsley. If you don’t want to start them from seed, you’ve got lettuce greens. Um what else do they have over here? Cole Robbie, chards, chives, all sorts of things. onions. And well, if you have room for this kind of edible goodness, then definitely you want to check out this section and especially I think my very very favorite bright light Swiss chard. I think one of the most beautiful well of any kind of ornamental you can plant in your garden. And then in the back they’ve got other perennials, hostas, hookas, all sorts of herbs. You can get your sage for Thanksgiving. And then more large shrubs and other kinds of tree specimens and such. Another thing that you might want to check out, they’ve got some encore aelas. They’ve got that beautiful bonfire red, which is spectacular. I think we passed them on our way in, Stuart. Yeah. Yeah. Let’s show a picture of it right here. And well, you just need to check everything out. The other change that they’ve made this year that I’m so pleased with is they’ve put up an awning so that in the intense heat of the day, well, let’s just say it’s not nearly so hot. And even though the highs are in the 80s today, it still feels it can get a little little toasty when you’re hefting those big pumpkins. Well, Stuart and I just said that we got our workout today because unloading these pumpkins is uh well, it’s a workout. And I think this is the last of the pumpkins. We had both Stuart’s the back of his car filled up. We even had Dot filled up. She’s got Oh, she we forgot we’ve got the basket the basket in the front the basket of minis that we need to unload. And then over Well, it’s going to be a really fun weekend. I’m just going to start placing all of these. will of course be sharing that with you. If you enjoy going on these pumpkin hauls or things of that nature with us, I’ve got a nat in my eye, Steuart. Um, then please make sure you subscribe, give us a thumbs up, give us a follow, and well, just be kind to one another during a very tense time. I think it’s it’s important. Just try to smile if you can, and spread the love. So, there you go. Um, I hope you enjoyed this very special pumpkinized signature style Saturday. [Music]

I'm with you about the bi-colored mums. Not a fan.
What a fun day pumpkinizing 🎃
You got some wonderful looking pumpkins, and I can't wait to see where you place them. I have my pumpkins placed in my garden now, and if I do say so myself, they look good.
Love 💞
The best pumpkin decorations for fall ❤

Linda, does the hand unit help your hand aches that come with arthritis?
Great Haul !
Thank you Linda! Enjoyed very much! ❤️
I buy my kale for fall decor in the veggie section. It seems much cheaper that way here in Ohio 😊
Beautiful
I dont like the bi color either. I can't wait to see those green mums. Great picks!!
GET THE HAIR OUT OF YOUR EYES !!!!!!!
I’m a long time user of omnilux, and several family and friends have been using as well. I use my face and neck masks on my hands 😊
I love the pumpkins.I have a large garden and I buy a truck load of pumpkins every year. I am in heaven.
Pumpkin decorating is not something we do in Australia, though the Halloween decor has gotten over the top in the last few years. So my question of the day is….Do you eat the pumpkins after you’ve finished with the decor? It seems such a waste of good produce to sell thousands of pumpkins just for show.
❤
Hi Linda. I'm going to drive up from Dallas to attend your garden tour. Did you mention a home tour also happening in your area? If so, can you please provide some details? Thanks!
🎃
What a delight seeing all the pumpkins there, Linda. Beautiful orange. Love the pink one, and the whites just really stood out. Great choices! Such pretty little pansies. Stewart knows just the right angles to capture all the beauty. I haven't pumpkinized just yet. The turquoise necklace just beautiful, Linda with your southwestern outfit of the day. Love those blue gemstones. December, yes! Thank you, Linda and Stewart for taking us along with you 🌱🍂
Many thanks Linda for the wonderful video! I ADORE FALL, and everything that goes along with it! 🍁🍂🍁
Oh dearest Linda,I have viewed your channel for many years now,and I can truly say that your outfit of the day is stunning to me.
Your Suede skirt, alongside those equestrian boots make my eyes pop!
And that denim top flatters you,it is such a confident, beautiful statement, you wear it with stunning elegance.
Don’t get me started on your watch,as you know that I am infatuated with it😅
Linda, a. You are absolutely ADORABLE, in and out! And, b. You are SO, SO, SO photogenic!!!!
Kudos to Stuart (Stewart?) for his videography and stills.
Well on my screen it looks like I am the first! Love all the pumpkins and can't wait to see them displayed in your garden. I am not a fan of sponsored products as so many are now doing it. I just fast forward to the garden content. I do get it, that it is a source of income for bloggers. But its like watching commercials on TV. I hardly ever find just content blogs anymore… which is sad to me.
I love pumpkins! Enjoyed this video! 🙂
It’s Fall Y’all! Pumkinizing for me means getting out the crockpot that I have concealed in a tiny corner and do my pumpkin potpourri. I use to do candles but they are a bit too high maintenance and can be a little pricey. A little pumpkin spice, orange slices cinnamon sticks and cloves into the pot with water and my house smells amazing, like there are pies and cookies baking in the oven. Never underestimate the power of comforting aromas, to add to a garden lifestyle.
This was such a fun video. Can’t wait to see how you arrange those beautiful pumpkins.
Love your outfit today. 😊
Beautiful pumpkins and lovely vlog. Sending vanilla scented dreams your way from The Pixie Tales 🪻🌸
🎃🌳🎃
Happy Fall y’all! 💕
How unusual…green chrysanthemums? I can’t wait to see these…and also, hope I can find some!!! 💚
Hii from Annie here in Adelaide is different season its the opposite of the other side of the world where you are, today we have had lots nice soft rain and sunshine they take turns every few mins today. It could be due to the moon's influence. The garden place is very well stocked and handy for you, So much to choose from was expecting you to stop at the pansies they are my fav flower so hardy and give lots of flowers all the time I find they do better in pots than in the ground. You can move the pots around for a new look all the time. You look really l lovely such a nice figure would swap with you any-day, as I am rather chubby but tryn to get more fit am same age as you too. Love watching you brings me such joy, today did more pruning am like you that way those ball shaped plants everywhere trees get it too. If I lived in America would come to see your garden for sure.
Ornamental cabbage and kale are my favorites. Here in Michigan they last till we have snow on them.
Happy pumpkinizing!
Fun!
The purest for the Finest !!! Cool video.
😍💯❤🙏🌻
Love my bombas❣️
I came across a book you might enjoy. LETTERS FROM A NANTUCKET GARDENER by Leslie Linsey 💛🤎🧡
Beautiful nursery!!
I like pumpkins with an odd shaped stem bc I lay them on their sides. Makes a weird looking nose if you are painting/carving a Jack-o-lantern.
I am happy to see your pumpkins! So fun. I would love to have such a display, but the squirrels eat them all! I usually buy a couple inexpensive ones, and they only last for a short while.
Oh my goodness, I have finally seen someone who gets just as excited as I do about Pumpkins! I can’t wait to see the green mums bloom. I can feel your enthusiasm.
Although I’m being “out of sync” re episodes- I’d love to hear you speak about your “business journey’ and how you manage/ plan/juggle your creative pursuits etc
Autumn my FAV time of the year!
