I overseeded 95% TTTF/5% KBG sixteen days ago. My lawn was okay, but had been ravaged by spurge and Crabgrass. I used Q4 Plus for broadleaf control in early August and there were lots of bare spots where the weeds had taken over.

I overseeded on Sept 6 after aerating and dethatching twice due to excessive thatch in the area of my backyard with dense KBG. Yesterday I purchased a Fiskars StaySharp Max reel mower because the TTTF was getting long but I am worried about any ungerminated KBG being sucked up by my rotary mower. I only had a chance to mow the front lawn with it so far and I think it's looking fantastic, but even the unmowed backyard looks great. I absolutely love the color.

Super excited to see how it looks in the spring. Probably going to modify the reel mower to become a striping monster and have some fun with that!

Just wanted to share. Wishing everyone luck with their fall projects!

Congratulations! How did you control the spurge? Are they still coming up after the reseeding? They are all over my reseeded lawn now and I have been hand pulling what I can.

  2. Oh. I should also mention that I didn’t apply starter fertilizer until day 7 to avoid giving the existing grass a head start and it has worked out well. I just made sure to delay my morning watering until after I had applied it and made sure to avoid sharp turns.

Looks amazing. Mine has been a bit of a disaster this year. So much time and effort gone into it as well.
