Minister of Agriculture of Israel, Avi Dichter, Israeli Ambassador to Georgia Walid Abu-Haya, and Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Lasha Dolidze visited the Tsilkani Annual Crops Experimental and Demonstration Centre, where they toured a cutting-edge greenhouse fitted with hydroponic technology.

“Our priority is to strengthen cooperation with international partners, share expertise, and equip farmers with modern knowledge to enhance their competitiveness. The ongoing training programmes in hydroponic greenhouses, supported by Israel, offer farmers and students the opportunity to master innovative techniques and exchange best international practices,” said Lasha Dolidze, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

Avi Dichter emphasised the importance of deepening collaboration between the two nations in the agricultural sector. He highlighted the need to establish a demonstration hub where Georgian and international specialists, agronomists, and farmers can share knowledge and experience. Furthermore, the delegation was briefed on ongoing activities at the facility and the projects underway within the greenhouse.

“The Agricultural Scientific Research Centre is actively working to introduce hydroponic technologies. The modern greenhouse, established with support from the Embassy of Israel, has become a vital centre for training farmers and students. We organise training sessions and informational meetings to promote innovative methods and disseminate practical knowledge,” Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Agricultural Scientific Research Centre, explained.
