The next person to get the friendship treatment and take advantage of your cooking skills in Grow a Garden is Sam at the Seed Stall. By increasing your friendship level with Sam, you’ll unlock a brand new tab in the Seed Stall with rare seeds to purchase.
How to Feed Sam and Increase Friendship
Just like other NPCs, such as the Giant in the Beanstalk Update, you can increase your friendship level with Sam by giving him cooked food. To do this, you’ll need to have unlocked the Cooking Kit by completing some of your Garden Guide Achievements.
Feeding Sam works similarly to the Giant since all you have to do is walk up with food held out and interact with him. Keep in mind, you’ll only see your current friendship level and progress while holding food. After feeding him, you’ll also see that you can only feed Sam once per 24 hours. The cooldown above his head keeps track of how long it’s been.
Once again, the rarity of the recipes you create will impact how many points you earn toward Sam’s friendship. When you unlock the first level of friendship at the Seed Stall, you’ll gain access to the brand new Friendship tab. You’ll need to contribute 15 points worth of food to complete the first level. Due to the point amounts from recipes and his cooldown, it’ll take at least two days to complete this level.
