Way way way too small for that moss pole. Roots will rot, unfortunately!

Your mix is WAY too well draining for your watering schedule right now, the rot is from roots drying out and dying between watering, then being rehydrated.

You should fill the moss pole with orchid bark, charcoal, lava rocks, and perlite

Finding that a decently well draining mix, good dry but not bone dry between. Have a pot with lots of drainage and air holes but then set it in a container with some leca that was soaked in water (only the wet leca no standing water lol) that the pot sits above has helped me.
The little extra humidity keeps the roots happy enough to let me let it dry out between sufficiently to avoid rot.
I have high ambient humidity and temps where I live in subtropical north florida so my mileage may vary greatly. This is just with alocasia, I’m it struggling with others like I have with them. Especially Jacklyn she’s like the Karen of my plants lol
