I accidentally broke this whole plant off when watering it. I really really want to save this bc it was an arrangement from my papas funeral- how can I make sure it lives??

Or you can put it in water until roots appear, then plant it in soil. If you plant it before it grows roots it can rot.

This is a “syngonium,” look online for care instructions and make sure you give it drainage and enough light. Very easy plant.

Put it in water, make sure it’s still getting sunlight, keep the water clean and it should grow roots.
Edit: those little “nubs” on it are where roots may grow from in the water.

Syngoniums are easy to propagate. Stick them in some water and wait for roots to grow over a couple of weeks. If you have them, I find propagating with a mixture of sphagnum moss and perlite is faster.

It looks like it has a node on the bottom, so I would stick it in some water til it grows enough roots and then plant it in some soil.

Im sorry for your loss.

It will be fine in water, and the part it broke off from may continue to grow back too. I’ve had a syngonium cut like this in plain water for like 3 years and it’s still happy and growing.

Stick in a glass of water. It’ll live. Sorry for your loss.
