From the quiet backwaters of Alappuzha to the bustling city of Jubail in Saudi Arabia, homemaker Neenu Pradeep has carried her love for arts and crafts wherever life has taken her. That passion has now blossomed into a Guinness World Record, with Ms. Neenu painstakingly crafting 1,101 paper flowers in just 4 hours and 39 minutes, weaving them into a 574-foot-long floral marvel — the longest line of paper flowers ever created.
She achieved the record on May 1, 2025. “I am thrilled and humbled to achieve this Guinness World Record. This record is a testament to patience, creativity, and the joy of pursuing one’s passion,” says Ms. Neenu, who hails from Arthunkal in Alappuzha.
While recognising her, Guinness World Records noted: “Neenu has a passion for the arts and wishes to inspire others to pursue their dreams.”
According to her, she reached the milestone after nearly two years of effort. A holder of a Master of Commerce (M.Com) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Ms. Neenu moved to Saudi Arabia after her marriage in 2009. “I had no work and so thought of using my time creatively. That’s when I reconnected with my old interests in crafting and painting. This gradually became an integral part of my artistic life,” she says.
While she enjoys acrylic painting and other art forms, Neenu’s greatest passion lies in creating handicraft items. In her skilled hands, eggshells, pistachio shells, old books, worn-out clothes, beads, wires, and other discarded materials are transformed into beautiful home decor pieces.
Before her Guinness achievement, she entered the Asia Book of Records for making the maximum number of flowers of different varieties using crepe paper (July 25, 2023) and for being the fastest individual to make a paper flower (November 17, 2023). On June 20, 2023, she also entered the India Book of Records for being the fastest to make a tulip flower using pistachio shells.
Having travelled extensively through the realms of handicraft and painting, Neenu has been providing training for over ten years to children interested in these arts. She is supported by her husband Samson Jacob and their two children- Aaron and Aangeleena.
