I plucked ALOT of green tomatoes last weekend because I’m just calling it for the season. Yes, leave them on the counter and they will ripen. I usually put them in a brown paper bag, and toss an apple in there and let it be for a week or two, all my tomatoes picked green last year are starting to blush or have turned red.

Definitely, just leave on the counter until it’s changed color

those will still be 1000x times better then storebought : )

Yes, put them on a windowsill

  5. Yes! Put them in a paper bag! The ones that fell off early for me took a few weeks to ripen, but check every few days just in case. Don’t want to be surprised with a bag of moldy tomatoes!

To state the obvious, they’ll either ripen or not. Give it a shot.

I just had a couple big green tomatoes I picked, stuck them in a brown bag with 2 bananas for a couple of days, all of the tomatoes 🍅 turned red!

Yeah just set em on the windowsill and rotate them every few days till ripe

Remember to rotate them if you decide to ripen them, pressure spots!

Does it matter? Try to see if they’ll ripen for a day or two, and if not, there’s a bunch of stuff you can do with green tomatoes, fried, pickled soup, etc

You can pickle them, fry them or leave them to change color.

That might be the very early signs of blossom end rot on the left one in the first picture.

They will get red (or purple or whatever), but no.

They will not get as delicious as their vine-ripened kin.

I am told that as soon as they are fully blushed (ie color change has fully started) then it takes no more nutrients from the plant so there should be no difference from leaving them to ripen on the vine. IDK

Absolutely 💯 put a banana 🍌 next to them to help ripen them!
