The Garland County Master Gardeners have selected the home of Tony and Kay Adams on East Sonora Drive for its September Residential Yard of the Month, according to a news release.
“Multiple flower beds surround the home filled with a variety of native and perennial plants. The perimeter of the lawn has Arkansas Blue Star, purple fountain grass, pink muhley grass, bridal veil, and forsythia bushes along with vitex, sweet olive, and Japanese maple trees,” the release said.
“The front flower beds are filled with azaleas, autumn joy sedum, hostas, chocolate mint, lemon balm, echinacea, Jewels of Opar and purslane plus a flowering crab apple tree. In the backyard Turks cap, black-eyed Susan vine, Cardinal vine, rosemary, autumn sage, obedient plants, yarrow, hydrangeas, a bleeding-heart vine, garden phlox and a saw-toothed oak provide an interesting landscape to enjoy from the covered patio,” it said.
“These and other plants given by family and Master Gardener friends give this yard special memories along with excitement as to what the next Master Gardener plant sale will offer in the spring.”
