So, I’m continuing to work on my Luna Garden. I’m up around about 7 and I do about two hours or a little bit more each day. So, slowly getting there. So, this is a big rubble sack which is full of stuff to take to the compost heaps down in the lower garden. And you can see I’ve been raking the soil. Got lots more lots lots more to do. And then over here, raking it into piles. Making another little pathway through there. I’ve decided that there’s a couple of shrubs here that are going to be taken out. And uh I’m putting lots more shrubs in, but in a very sort of ordered way. So, it means that I’ll be able to get in here and mow in order to keep the bindweed and the raspberry canes at bay. So, I’ve got some nice acacia here. So, kind of low shrubs, low growing shrubs along this path and higher ones over there. So, I have a lovely magnolia tree. See, all these have been growing in pots, so they really have to come out of the pots. And um I’ve been burning off some of the bindweed because the bindweed of course is quite pernitious and there’s not a lot you can do with it other than to try to just keep it under control. So so far so good. I’m going to go in now and make myself a pot of tea because I am actually quite in need of a rest. just to rest up for a while anyway and then I’ll get back into here because I’m very enthused by all this. And I’ll just show you something else here in the garden. I’ve been pulling a lot of the crocosmia because this spreads like wildfire. So at the end of each flowering season, what I do is anything that’s overhanging the path like these here I’ll be pulling, I pull them out. I make space and then what happens then next year I get lots and lots of flowers. So it’s very cyclical. I’ve got to harvest some more apples. Oh gosh. Anyway, have a lovely day everybody.

  1. Collette you keep inspiring me to do things on my own that I always left up to my husband when he was here.

  3. You are a busy lady Colette. Yes, please go and get a cup of tea and have a rest. It it is all coming on really well and putting in the groundwork now, you will reap the benefits next year. That will be another tick off the 'jobs to do list'. 😅 Blessings to you and Patsy for a beautiful weekend. 🤗

  4. Lots and lots of flowers next year sounds wonderful 🤗 I love magnolia trees. There was a huge ancient one next to the driveway of a cottage that I lived in for 11 years. Beautiful apples. Thanks Collette, you and Patsy have a great day. 🌞❤️🐶

  5. Colette, this is amazing. Your design of a new garden as you celebrate the season is in keeping with your co-work with Mother Earth. You are doing an incredible amount of work. Yes, the red red apples are ready for harvest but a cup of tea first because you are exhausted. ❤❤

  6. I am always impressed with how healthy your plants are. I see very little diseased leaves or fruit. How do you do it? Such healthy apples! Do you can or freeze or dry your fruit? I could see a lot of applesauce or apple pie filling in your future.

  7. How do you use or save your apples? I love your gardens. I enjoy all the plants you grow-I live in a very cold state in the usa, so I love the lushness of your space. (Yes, I also envy that you can just leave the doors open for the day-here my house would be filled with insects like flies and mosquitoes lol) I would love to hear how you interact with the wildlife. Here I love my birds, but do have squirrel, chipmunk and raccoon issues. have a wonderful day and many thanks for the 'sharing'.

  8. The abundance of apples on your tiny trees is amazing! They make me want a crispy apple. I can almost smell them! I live 2 miles from an orchard. Perhaps I'll have a run down there today! Thank you, Colette!

  9. Gorgeous!! I need to sort out my crocosmia too! Definitely like wild fire in colour as well as behaviour! 🥰

  10. Colette do you have a dehydrator? I’ve been making dried apple slices and storing in jars .A great pantry item❤

  11. Lovely results from all your hard work! Sometimes “less is more” in the garden gives everything room to breathe!

  12. I enjoy your garden work so much. It reminds me of gardening in my Pacific Northwest area (Seattle,WA) for my first 50 years. I live and garden in the Sonoran Desert now. Totally different challenges but very successful with your inspiration and diversity ideas. I grow native and immigrant trees that provide wonderful shade for a lush undergrowth. Thanks Colette.💯🌵💋🌷🐾🐝💚
