The fiddle was damaged during a storm recently with a large branch breaking the top 3 leaves. It already needed to be repotted, so after the storm I did that and moved it to a new spot in the house. I expected to lose a few leaves from all the stress, but this is crazy. Have never had a plant do this.
I’m not new to having house plants, I’m just at a loss for the next best course of action. Do I prop the top off and cut the trunk down to the new growth? Leaf it as is? Something else?
Also something similar is happening with my rubber tree *without the storm damage part.
I water the same I have for the past 5-10 years or so that I’ve had these guys. Both get indirect filtered south facing window light. Using a new all purpose potting mix in an orange bag from Pikes

Are you 100% sure you don’t have pests? Just because it’s odd that it’s happening to the rubber tree too. Fiddle leafs are dramatic, but to have it happen to both at the same time is suspect.
