Using Google search data, the team at Bloom & Wild has created a list of the UK’s best botanical gardens to visit this season, highlighting where families can enjoy fiery foliage, kid-friendly trails, and seasonal blooms.
From Gruffalo walks in Scotland to treehouse adventures in Northumberland, there’s something for everyone.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston features in the list, and you can look forward to seeing a “mix of familiar herbaceous favourites”.
Why Birmingham Botanical Gardens is worth a visit
Bloom & Wild added: “Four glasshouses transport visitors through rainforests to deserts, with lots of outdoor space although its butterfly house is closed for restoration. Outside, there are aviaries, playgrounds, and rolling lawns.
“Seasonal blooms highlight: Colourful borders line the West Lawn by the playground. A mix of familiar herbaceous favourites inspired by the legendary Gertrude Jekyll are a highlight, while exotic houseplants bring constant colour in the glasshouses.”
The gardens “is a 15 acre grade II* listed landscape, with diverse micro-climates, offering a uniquely bio-diverse natural environment” and it’s “one of the UK’s most significant historic botanic gardens which has remarkably remained intact since 1829,” explains its website.
