Grow mushrooms the way we did here at North Spore in the beginning! The MushBucket can be used in small spaces like patios and urban gardens. It’s stackable, scalable, and can be used outside or indoors in a BoomRoom 👍

Want to grow your own food in less than a month? Growing mushrooms in buckets is one of the most reliable and versatile ways to get pounds of gourmet mushrooms over and over again. You can do this method outside or inside, and the small footprint allows you to potentially grow pounds of mushrooms in a small area. First, prep your straw by heating water to around 180°. Soak the straw filled burlap sack for an hour to pasteurize it. Then, let it drain and cool completely. Once it’s ready, layer the straw and spawn inside the bucket until the bucket is completely filled. Now it’s time to let it colonize. Keep it in a humid place, and in about 2 weeks, you’ll see mushrooms popping through the holes. In just a few days, you’ll be pulling clusters of beautiful gourmet mushrooms to use in your next meal or to give to your friends. The best part is after your first harvest, you can expect up to three more. And when it’s all done, the Spence Straw is perfect for compost or garden mulch. [Music]

  1. Brothers and sisters!! How are those fruits sooo huge. Were those outdoors or did you have them in a fruiting room?!

  2. Im growing/attempting in a hanging wall planter with 25 pockets lol. Been hard keeping them damp even with a cover over it and stapled to my fence. So now ive fitted a lil irrigation system to it lol. It will be awesome if can get these all growing oyster out of them. ❤

  3. I can never keep them moist enough to fruit inside and especially outside. Low humidity environment…

  4. This is a good idea. Mushrooms are very healthy, great in salads or sauteed.

What would be a better idea, hemp based plastics.

I am completely in favor of a hemp based economy. Think how happy the farmers would be.
