The sessions will be held at its Swindon garden centre in October and are open to all ages and abilities.
Part of the national chain’s Little Seedlings Club and Grow How series, the workshops are designed to spark enthusiasm for gardening while sharing practical seasonal advice.
Nigel Lawton, plant buyer at Dobbies, said: “Autumn is a great time of year in the gardening calendar and our free-to-attend workshops at the Swindon store showcase just how accessible and fun this hobby is.
“These sessions are designed for gardeners of all ages and abilities.
“This month’s Little Seedlings Club will be a fun way for children to discover the gross side of gardens, and October’s Grow How session will be very beneficial for those unsure of how to prepare their garden on the lead up to winter, or how to care for your garden tools during the cold months.”
The Grow How event, titled Caring for your autumn garden, will take place on Wednesday, October 1, and Saturday, October 4, at 10.30am and 3.30pm.
The session will focus on protecting plants, preparing soil for winter, and planning seasonal planting.
It will feature a live demonstration and a Q&A with a member of Dobbies’ Green Team.
Attendees will also learn about autumn pruning, winter garden preparation, and care for gardening tools during the colder months.
The Little Seedlings Club returns on Sunday, October 5, with a Halloween-themed workshop called Gross Gardens.
Aimed at children aged four to 10, the session will explore the importance of decomposers in the garden.
Topics will include compost, worms, beetles, fungi, and the value of ‘stinky’ plants.
Young attendees will learn why ‘gross is great’ in the garden and how these elements contribute to a healthy ecosystem.
The interactive session will include making a mini compost jar and taking part in a garden quiz.
Dobbies’ Little Seedlings Club is designed to be hands-on, educational, and fun for young gardeners.
Both workshops are free, but booking is required.
Spaces can be reserved online through the Dobbies website.
More information about the events can also be found on the Dobbies website.
