After reading several articles about trees being planted too deep, I decided to expose the foot flare on my Red Push Pistache tree in Phoenix. It is about 6-8 yrs old and thriving.
Does the root marketed with a red arrow need to be cut, or is it OK?
Thank you!

So you did what now?
Never mind the roots which are fine, those scaffold branches never got pruned when young and now [you have crowding](https://www.treesaregood.org/Portals/0/TreesAreGood_Pruning%20Young%20Trees_0621.pdf), which needs to be fixed soon.
It’s thriving and you are messing with it?
