Hey, I was wondering if this is normal and if not, how do I fix it? Also, my daughter wants a cutting, it is easy to make new plants from cuttings? I got 3 african violets as a gift when my Mother passed away 11 years ago and two of them have survived.
When it blooms, it has the cutest little blue and white flowers.
Any tips would be very much appreciated.

Hey, so that long bit on the plant there is called a neck. African violets only grow from the top of the crown, and eventually they shed old leaves. So yes, this is normal. But also, it requires maintenance in the form of repots to prevent it getting so long.
If I had more time I’d explain further
