I’ve been reading this subreddit for quite a while now and it made my day every time I saw how you guys love trees. Even though, I don’t even own a tree myself, not even a garden tbh.
Today I came across one of my favourite trees again and thought I snap some pictures and share. Perhaps it brightens someone’s day as well.
Should be a London plane and it’s the centre of a park in Zurich. I would guess it’s about 35m wide (115ft for people using freedom units) and about 25m high (82ft). I read somewhere that it’s 85 years old and I really hope it lives over 100 and people will celebrate its birthday.
Since I saw everyone here likes root flares, I took a picture of the root flare, which is why the post is marked NSFW obviously.
Have a good one everyone and thanks for the educational entertainment in this subreddit! 🌳

I’m from Canada and I met a nice couple from London on a hike in Jasper National Park. They mentioned these trees and I had never heard of them before! Absolutely gorgeous
