Not necessarily a “what’s wrong with it” question, but here’s what’s up: I’ve been burned by this grower the last couple of times I’ve bought plants from them (pests, weird soul composition?). I’d like this fella to actually live, though, so what would you do to set it up for success?
I don’t see any pests this time, so I think I’m safe on that front. The brown spots have me a little worried, but I don’t think it’s fungus? (Maybe sunburn?) Should I repot it as soon as I get home? Give it some acclimation time first?
This isn’t my first round with houseplants by any means, but I would reaaaalllyyy like to do my best for this one, so I’m trying to approach it fresh. Any tips and tricks very welcome. 🫶🏻

I tend to rinse off leaves with a hose/sink or shower sprayer, then hit it with some insecticidal soap and keep separated.
Those spots are normal for a philo. All my RoF have them and other types have something similar.
The rof is doing great
I’d just check and see if the soil holds on to too much water. I repotted mine after getting it from a box store. It was potted in what I think was coconut husks. It held on to water for AGES
I quarantine my plants when they arrive, spray with neem oil and repot and place the soil with my soil mixture
I usually rinse the leaves, makeup brush all over with my anti-pest mix (water, alcohol, soap), and sometimes repot.
Put on a lil music. Pour wine perhaps
Remove top couple inches of soil and replace with perlite. Wipe down both side of the leaves, spray with insecticide and dust some diatomaceous earth around base, up stem and under the leaves.
