This week on Good Day Gardening, we caught up with Jeff Turnbull, owner of Darby Creek Nursery. Jeff says the 25% off sale on most plants continues, with the exception of fall annuals like mums.
We also talked about how many plants are starting to go dormant. Central Ohio has had less than one inch of rain in the last month and a half, making this year’s drought even tougher than last year, when at least two inches fell during the same period. Jeff says keeping up with watering is critical to help your plants transition into fall.
Looking ahead, Darby Creek Nursery is gearing up for their Fall Farm Fest, happening Friday, October 3 through Monday, October 6. Families can walk the tree farm to pick out trees for purchase, and kids can enjoy pumpkins and fall fun. Big sales are expected during the festival, but Jeff recommends stopping by this weekend to take advantage of the nursery’s full inventory before the crowds arrive.
