I've had this baby for almost 4 years, still no flowers. But a lot of growth. It was a few cuttings 4 years ago. I up sized once, and not in about 2 years now. the roots are coming out of the top and not bad out the bottom. I've seen worse root bound. I just don't want to kill it or get root rot!

The new pot seems too tall and big. Could you use a less tall/deep pot that has a larger diameter than the old pot?
I prefer smaller intervals but it would likely be completely fine. You’d see slower leaf growth until the roots grow a bit.
My hoyas have never liked repotting.
I’m thinking a pot that’s the same height as the current one but wider might be an idea. If using the larger one you already have then I’d put soil in and use the current one to create the perfect insert spot and not mess with the roots at all, just pop it in the hole. (No expert in any way – only my thoughts)
Thank you all so much! I don’t have anything else, but I’m going to buy one about half inch wider but same height.
I think the new size is fine. Use a well draining soil mix and be conscious of your watering to make sure soil isn’t staying too wet for too long.
I’d use the one you have for sure. Just use really chunky soil or even some pon or leca in the bottom and don’t fill clear to the top. Put it down in a bit. Then you also have a bit of rim support if the vines do a little shock thing. Just my own opinion not a pro by any means. But I always use what I have and save that extra $$ for new plants 🤣🤣🤣🤣
