Im trying to repot my sundews so I can have it indoors for the winter and to put a small dent on the fruit flies I have right now but my cat keeps licking the dew on my plants. I kinda dont want her to get ill if she does something stupid like eat although she's chewed/teethed at plants at most before, not eat large parts of it.

  1. I would try and find a solution to your cat licking the plants, *but* it’s not specifically toxic to them, at least.

I had a feral cat that would eat chunks of my sundews whenever she got lucky enough to jump onto the shelf. As far as I could tell it never made her sick. Of course if you use pesticide then that’s a different story but overall I think your cat should should be fine! Of course continue to keep an eye on her and don’t give her an all you can eat buffet of dew.

It’s non-toxic, but can cause mild stomach upset for cats if ingested. be careful for any insects with the ability to sting that have been trapped as they may be able to sting her if she’s chewing on it too but I’d just advise you to move it where she can’t reach If anything the cat is more dangerous to the drosera lol
