Thank You For Watching.
See ya real Soon.

Over the past few years, a lot of Busch
Garden Tampa Bay fans have been asking the same question. Is a Giga coaster coming?
And with the latest attraction closures, we thought this might be happening, but I have
to be honest, I don’t think it’s going to happen this time round. The park is definitely
planning something completely different. And with Busch Gardens recent
post on Stanley Falls Log Flume, we could be waiting another year for that giga
coaster. So, if you want to hear my theories, stick around for this video. But before
we start, let’s roll them titles. [Music] With the recent closures and construction
activity, things are starting to look interesting. So, let’s break it all down and look at what might
be coming next for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Right now, there are two key areas in the park that
are either cleared or about to be cleared. The first is the former Scorpion site which is already
cleared located in the Pantopia area of the park. Then the second site is Stanley Falls Log Flume
which officially closed on the 7th of September located in Stanleyville. On August the 29th, Busch
Gardens Tampa Bay announced that Stanley Falls Flume will close permanently. Yes, this is not for
a refurbishment. Stanley Falls has been a staple attraction for Busch Gardens since 1973. And after
more than 50 years, the final day to ride the classic attraction was on September the 7th. Like
I have said for many years, log flumes are leaving our parks, mainly due to the operational costs.
And I have to be honest, I really miss these classic park attractions with their twists and
turns. conveyor belt lift hills and splashdowns. They’re just a great family fun attraction. If
you’re enjoying this video, please don’t forget to smash subscribe. And if you’re watching on TV, all
you have to do is scroll up on your remote, head over to our logo on the right, and click subscribe
there. Now, if you look at the park layout from above, these two areas are right next to each
other, making them ideal to combine into one large footprint for a major new attraction. So, what is
Busch Gardens up to? And what could this space be used for? Will they remove the water lagoon?
Some fans are wondering if Busch Gardens is removing the central lagoon at Stanley Falls. But
this is where things get interesting and a little bit technical. While the lagoon adds to the park’s
beauty, it actually potentially serves a much more important purpose. It’s not just for aesthetics,
it’s for safety. Large bodies of water in theme parks can act as an emergency water source for
fire suppression. If a fire were to break out and the hydrants weren’t close and or accessible or
ran dry, having lagoons positioned around and in the center of parks give emergency teams a crucial
water supply. Firefighting units can pump directly from it, allowing them to act faster and more
efficiently, while lines are set up from further away hydrants once they have been located. The
problem is theme parks are compact with buildings and attractions being in a close location to one
another which could potentially aid the spread of any fire. Even your more up to date theme parks
adopt a same layout with large lagoons. Take the newly opened epic universe and its central water
fountains. So, it is very likely that the Stanley Fall Log Flume Lagoon in some literation will
stay even if the attractions around it change. So, let’s go back to a giga coaster idea. Here’s a
possible layout, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. The old Scorpion site could become
the station and queuing area accessed from the Pantopia section of the park. From there,
the coaster would rise up over the Serengeti Express above the lagoon and head towards the area
between Tigris and Wild Oasis. The lift hill could reach the park’s perimeter where the first drop
would fall towards the back of the park heading towards the Congo area and the retention ponds.
On the return, it would potentially take the same route towards the station with a signature
splashdown across the Stanley Falls lagoon, similar to like what you would see on Shra.
This would be visually stunning, high frills, and make use of the existing water feature and
for sure would be a fan favorite. Obviously, this could be a B&M giga coaster, but let’s not rule
out Mac rides, especially with recent rumors and possible partnership at SeaWorld Orlando United
Parks and Resorts and the rumors of them working again with the next edition. I’ll pop a card right
here to our big roller coaster predictions for Orlando. Give it a watch and let us know what you
think. Could we see a Mac or Mach hyper coaster in this space? Pushing the boundaries with a compact
layout with some new interesting elements similar to what they did at Fort Park with Hyperia. But
please, no 400 ft Max spinning concept. No one wants this concept, especially with one train
ops. I mean, why can’t Mac or Mock Rides just build a giga coaster? Surely it’s just extending
the lift hill, right? But what if Bush Gardens isn’t going with a giga coaster? Enjoying the
video so far? We hope so. If you’re finding it helpful or just having fun watching, don’t forget

get out there and go and make some memories. The next best bet could be a water based
attraction, especially if United Parks and Resorts is continuing its relationship with Mac
Rides with a multi park multi-attraction deal. So, here are some Mac Ride possibilities for this
location. First on the list is a power splash. This is an attraction that launches you forwards
and backwards in a pendulum like motion and ends with a splashdown, but it might be too small
for the amount of land being cleared. Also, would this bring big crowds, especially investing
in family attractions for over the past 2 years? I do like this ride concept, but I think it would
fit better in SeaWorld Orlando due to the size and it being a solid family attraction. Next, we
have the Super Splash. This one is promising. It offers a big drop, a major splashdown, and
could even feature a rotating platform for backwards or forwards riding. Imagine voting
for your direction while you’re going up the lift hill and not knowing which way you’re going
to go down the drop until the last minute. This attraction would fill the space and have an epic
splashdown for the ones. The next two attractions, I don’t think Busch Gardens would go for
them, but I’ve put them in the list anyway. The first being a free flow boat ride, a family
friendly option with indoor and outdoor elements, and bush gardens could really use more indoor
attractions, especially for cooling off in the Florida heat. The full site could have a large
building housing this attraction. But does Bush Gardens want an attraction full of special
effects and scenery which would add a lot of maintenance and upkeep similar to the Journey to
Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando. Just a slow family version. The next option would be the tow-boat
ride. A slow scenic cruise around a lagoon. Nice, but probably not thrilling enough to replace
two thrill attractions. And again, marketing this would be pointless. They need to get people
from Orlando to come. Just look at what the big frills have done for Busch Gardens Tampa over
the years. Take Iron Gwazi. When this attraction finally opened, the park was rammed, making
it a worthwhile investment for Busch Gardens Tampa. Option number five is an interactive boat
ride. This one’s a wild card. water cannons, guest interaction, great family fun, but might not
be the blockbuster the park is aiming for. For me, this would be a nice addition. It just
seems that the location is too big. Also, adding another family attraction at this time
after Wild Oasis and Phoenix Rising doesn’t seem like a sound option at this point. Or could
it be a Mac Rides rocking boat concept, which is a modern take on a log flume itself, but the log
or boat rocks from side to side? My thing is, would Bush Gardens go back to a very similar
attraction than what they’re taking out? Yes, it would be cheaper to run, but hard to market a
like for like attraction. Then finally, we have a water coaster. Now, this could be the best of both
worlds. coaster drops, high speed splashdowns, and minimal theming needed. If done right, it
could look similar to the Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld San Diego. Less theming, mostly outdoors,
and completely different to SeaWorld Orlando’s version. I mean, this could be a strong contender
cuz if you go back to Busch Gardens post, there was two emojis used, a roller coaster and
a splash. So, what do you guys think? Comment down below. So, here’s my breakdown. If it’s a
giga coaster, it could use the old Scorpion and Stanley Falls site incorporating the lagoon and
deliver a massive park changing thrill ride. And if a hyper coaster doing the same but on a smaller
footprint or if it’s a Mac rides water attraction, the water coaster, the super splash and power
splash are the top contenders in my opinion. Either way, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is gearing
up for something big. So, what do you think? Is a Giga finally coming or is it a next-gen water
attraction? Let me know in a comment and be sure to check out my predictions video where I dig
into Mac Rides and SeaWorld’s partnership in more detail. The link is in the description. Thank

  1. Anytime we go over 200 feet we need approval since the airport is close by. Any hyper/giga would be to replace Kumba.

  2. As much as I’d love seeing a water coaster of some kind to inhabit this area, BG needs to get on their high horse and built that Giga! Is it possible we’re going to get 2 big rides in 2 years? It was planned for 2019-2020, so who knows. A dual plan would have to be announced, with construction beginning on both.
