This single, long root has been growing in my water prop Manjula for about 1.5 months. No secondary roots are coming out, and even a new leaf is sprouting from being in the water (look closely on the right stem). Should I just pot it or would that be risky?

You can definitely pot this little baby pothos up. I’ve potted them up with less and had good results. They’re pretty tough and very forgiving little plants.
I’d wait for secondary roots just to be sure but he’d probably b fine
Yes just keep soil extra damp for the first week til it takes hold.
You can pot it like that, but if you put it shallower water to where just the root is submerged, it’ll grow secondary roots real quick
Yep pot er up water roots aren’t regular soil roots. Harder to go from water to soil. Soil is always best
Yes, it can be potted. I pot my pothos cuttings when the root looks like yours I don’t wait for secondary roots and they do really well
Editing to add that to help with the transition from water to soil I use a small pot with a mix of 50/50 potting soil/perlite. When it’s time for a repot I use 70/30 soil/perlite and top dress with worm castings
I agree. Pot it. I’ve got some rooting in coco coir with a lid so I think yours will do great.
Yup. Pot it. I wait for secondary roots if possible but honestly if it’s maintaining itself well enough for a leaf to start unfurling I don’t feel bad sticking it in some soil. Just keep it more moist than you normally would so it can establish in the new medium
I’ve potted with way less of a root than that haha. You’re far more patient than I, pot’er uppp.
