A Roblox fan has pointed out how overpowered one Grow a Garden pet is, and others are asking them to stay quiet before it’s nerfed. Despite some recent challenges, the game creation system has gained considerable traction lately, and fan-created experiences like Grow a Garden are a big reason why. As the Roblox game continues to draw new players, its best pets have become increasingly clear, but some would rather those details stay quiet.
The Roblox farming sim has gotten off to a remarkable start since debuting in March 2025. In late July, Grow a Garden drew over 21.3 million concurrent players, passing the likes of massively popular titles like Fortnite. Regular updates have kept things fresh as more users flock to the game mode, but some fans are hoping that future patches leave some of the current imbalances untouched.
Grow a Garden Users Say the Lemon Lion is “So Broken in the Best Way”
A Roblox player by the username Ill-Variation-4454 took to Reddit to point out that the Lemon Lion pet is “genuinely so broken in the best way.” As the accompanying screenshot shows, the pet applies the Brainrot mutation to a random fruit every five minutes and gives another pet over 1,500 bonus XP every 10 minutes. With that combination of benefits, it’s no wonder that Lemon Lion is an S-tier Grow a Garden pet, especially when players can only have three active animals at any given time.
The Brainrot Grow a Garden mutation increases a crop’s sale value by 100 times, so getting such a multiplier every five minutes can quickly lead to massive success. However, most of the other players in the comments shared their enthusiasm for Lemon Lion not by praising it, but by criticizing the original poster for drawing attention to it. Many of the comments mentioned fears of Grow a Garden’s developer nerfing the pet once it becomes clear how overpowered it is, citing past updates that adjusted some mechanics after users abused them.
Some of the Roblox game’s recent changes haven’t been popular among the fanbase. Some users said Grow a Garden’s big Summer Update adds a pay-to-win element that caters to content creators over the average player. Still, the game has remained an undeniable success, helping Roblox reach record-smashing numbers of concurrent players, all while facing legal trouble and a petition to remove Roblox Corporation’s CEO. The future of the platform and fan-made experiences like Grow a Garden may be uncertain, but they certainly aren’t slowing down for now.
