The Extension Master Gardener Association of Davidson County will present its annual fall plant sale at a new time and place, and there will be food trucks to feed you while you shop.

The event will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 4 in the rear parking lot of the Agriculture Center, 301 E. Center St. in Lexington. Parking will be available in the probation office lot across the street from the sale.

Fall is the best time to plant shrubs and trees, according to Master Gardener Frankie Mefford.

“Master Gardener volunteers will donate beautiful plants from their yards for the sale, as usual,” she said. “You will be able to choose from a wide variety of common and rare plants — shrubs, trees, perennials, vines/ground covers, N.C. natives, house plants and more. Prices will be far below retail.”

A “garden treasure” area will include garden décor, gently-used gardening items and gift containers with special plants.

A food area featuring Sunshine Slush and Yank’s Franks will be available for lunch.

Proceeds from this sale will fund scholarships and community projects. Cash, check or credit cards will be accepted. Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to answer your gardening questions.

Members have been potting, growing and nurturing plants for the plant sale for months.

“The plant sale is known for its wide range of healthy plants at affordable prices with tips on growing them from experienced Extension Master Gardeners,” she said.
