I've had it for about 5 months. Its near a west facing window. I haven't reported or changed the soil from the store. I water it when needed, usually around every 10 days or so. It's been thriving up until about 2 weeks ago. Leaves are browning/dying and looking really bad. I seen some tiny white specs and a white spider mite fell out of the plant when I wiped the leaves and stems off with isopropyl alcohol a few days ago. If you see white fuzzy stuff, it's cotton from the wipes. I don't see any pests now. I'm not sure what my next step is. Please help.

Did it get left In a super sunny spot? If not sunburned, then def cut off all the yellow/ brown leaves and try neem oil (make sure you google specific application steps), or possibly copper fungicide if you think there may be root rot. I’m not familiar w pests and them causing this sort of damage, so someone else might have better options.

Maybe it needs to blow more natural wind. Try to put it in a place where the wind can be blown outdoors, and don‘t expose it to the sun.

In addition, is its soil too moist? The roots are not very breathable, which is easy to cause yellow leaves and dry up.
    For reference.

I would start with repotting into some chunky soil. Make sure to get rid of as much old soil as you can and cut off any dead roots. Put into a pot 2 inches bigger than the root ball. Give it a good watering, then let it dry out completely before it’s next watering. After that, water as needed or when the top half of the pot is dry. You will need to cut off the dead leaves but it should bounce back quickly 🙂

Is that an air vent on the floor? If so, that’s the culprit. Also western light would be too warm in a dry room. These guys are fussy as hell and need humidity.

These guys are pretty delicate. Mine can’t even handle bright indirect light. I’ve also read they like their soil to be moist but not sopping.

I agree with cutting back the yellowed leaves. And repotting.
