Who else lets their monstera spiral instead of straight vertical climbing?
My other monsteras are vertically ambitious, but this lady seemed to want to do a lil spiral and I wasn’t opposed to it as a plant newbie. This is her today. Kinda grateful for her condensed height so far.
Mine has, I believe, from inconsistent light sources. I think it spiraled towards the light.
I should really chop and prop, but I have been having propagations rot a little more often lately, and I’d be pretty sad to lose them. I might talk myself into it at the start of the next grow season.

I was thinking of trying that! Eventually I decided against it and just moved it, it was gonna be a hassle to cut through the plastic-backed pole and stitch everything together. Glad to know that it looks cool!

I make sure mine have a consistent source of lighting and don’t spin, so they don’t take 4 times the space.
PS: that’s a BIG leaf!

Awesome! Despite what the majority here may say, I say let em do more/less whatever. Obviously I would never advocate the trellis being anywhere but behind the plant. Other than that, have fun! One person on either this sub or r/plants prefers to let theirs grow wild–just however it wants. I’m in the middle. I use a moss pole, but haven’t attached it yet. Planted it with about 1/4″ – 1/2″ of space behind the closest bit. My monsty has been slowly leaning back toward it.
I hope that wasn’t too much unwanted/irrelevant information! I’m chatty 😅

Can you post the stem so I know what you mean?
