Dry them and keep in the house to repel roaches and other insects.

Super interesting tree. Osage orange is believed to have been a specialized tree that used now extinct fauna to help its spread and the wood is the best fire wood you can get. It’s also a fun wood to carve or use in woodworking as it’s rot resistant, beautiful grained and it’s natural oil give the wood a citrus smell.

You have trees in your apartment?

Osage orange! Used to try to explode them by throwing them at other trees super hard lol

You can put it in your house as an ant trap. My grandma used to have them all over her house in Naples Florida haha

Osage orange. At this point we might need a link in the wiki, this gets asked weekly.

The tree has roots which intertwine so it made a great fence before barbed wire was invented (some places call it a “hedge apple” for this reason).

Natives made great bows out of the wood, hence its other name, bois d’arc.

First described in Western sources by explorers that Thomas Jefferson sent West after the Lousiana Purchase, like the Freeman-Custis Expedition (which I made a video about and how I know about the osage orange).

We always called them hedge apples! and sometimes put them in the house to repel insects and spiders, but i never knew if it actually worked or not
