It is also called a bucket orchid .It drips sweet nectar(which is an aphrodisiac to the bees and gets them high) in its bucket to lure specific species of wax bees to it .They get high and lose their grip and fall into the bucket from its slippery waxy rim. Then the drowning bees have no choice but to get out through a small opening which traps the bees for some time. Until the flower has not completely glued two pollen sac on the trapped bee , the bee is not released . (the good thing for the bee is that it gets out of the flower trap smelling very enticing to the females so it can mate more, while the flower has transferred its pollen). its a win win situation for the bee(those which are able to find the opening and don’t drown) and the flower too
