Moss pole? Coir pole? I have metal stakes too. Also, recommendations of a substrate would be greatly appreciated.

you don’t need a moss pole but i’ve found it keeps the ariel roots tidy and the leaves size up well- but people grow beautiful floridas with just regular stakes. either way, it’ll def needs support as it continues growing. basic chunky aroid mix should do you good. i’ve found floridas to be very rewarding and not fussy at all

Mine loves its moss pole. Once it attached itself, the aerial root growth exploded and they’re growing like crazy. It’s really satisfying to see the roots growing throughout the pole.

For substrate I’ve got it in a typical chunky aroid mix: orchid bark, perlite, charcoal, indoor potting mix (peat moss).
