Why would I spend $50 in the grocery store buying produce when I could spend $1,000 and spend hundreds of hours growing my

Your doing it wrong
Cuz when you trust the 'plan't, resistance is 'fertile' 😛
You’re missing the purpose maybe someday that grocery store won’t be there
Again, I don’t know where your numbers are coming from. Please evaluate every expense and let us know where you’re coming up with these thousand dollars you are wrong. I think maybe there is a lack of ambition.
Better to just eat meat
Hopefully the investment lasts a number of years, food for the soul and zen time, but yes it cheap, my 12*8 green HSE at £1200 is my conservatory complete with bistro table ,cheaper than £30000 conservatory
true that
I should quit farming. I hear food just grows on the shelf in the grocery store.
Because it is healthier and tastes SSSSOOOOO much better! 😊
Because it's healthier and safer to grow your own D A
Because it's fun 😂
Because you're an idiot apparently. Seeds for a suitable vegetable garden will cost you less than $50 and you don't need anything but a shovel and a yard with dirt and the knowledge of how to grow vegetables… You really don't need all that fancy stuff… You can make your own compost, and you can use saplings or bamboo to make pea trellises or fencing
The people that say it’s fresher and taste better Haven’t spent $1000 on a stupid little garden
Way worth it year by year.
Don't forget to prune your fruit trees. Keep them small and ultra productive.
My thoughts exactly , to all those who think its just " Jack , the cow , and the beanstalk , goodluck😂
Because there is so much difference in taste and knowing what was used growing that produce is priceless
It’s what we do 😊
I am a husband. I spend the money on gardening as she directs. Simple to understand.
It's healthier, financially cheaper in the long run, makes you less dependent on supply chains or maybe its because they just taste better when you do it on your own? Plus the sense of accomplishment
OMG, that is so me. I spend so much on fertilizer, supplements, water, time, and get one cucumber and one zucchini. And get to see the birds eating the baby green beans!!!
Loved my $80 tomato. Its educational
It's a hobby, simple as that.
Where is this $50 grocery shopping trip you speak of??!!
It's a pleasure to watch nature… eat what nature gives you, and it is pure, why would I spend money for chemicals and genetic mix ups!!.. The taste also is amazing … 😊
It's a lot cheaper to grow your own than it is to buy it what you need to do is buy your own seeds
That's me too.
Because it's good for your physical and mental health. It also seems to make you a nicer person.
Because knowing how to grow your food is priceless.
You would do it because you love it and it would be the beginning of you becoming self-sufficient. We all need to know how to grow our own food and our children need to know too!
Its better for you
FOR THE TASTE
For the same reason I spend $$$$ on yarn and work one year for a sweater when I can buy on temu 😂.
If you have to ask that question, then you can’t grow a garden anyway!
Because. It's truly organic that way & fresher without chemicals if you do your research & do it right way.
Letting tomato’s sit on the vine and fully ripen is something that you typically can’t find in a grocery store, and I know mine are pesticide free.
$1000? Uuuuh how ?
Why go fishing when you can buy fish?
Healthier for you! Fresh air! Scheduled activity bending lifting squatting farmer’s lunges better than cross fit and therapy! And you get tomatoes and beans and squash you can’t buy at the stores only available in seed catalogs! Win win win
Happiness, Health, Expierience 😊🎉
Because the quality of life, and nutrient rich gifts are worth it1
Because it’s a passion not an expense ❤
Because it's ten times better than what you buy in the grocery store.
Yet you complain about the grocery prices, knowing how expensive it can be.. Besides a tomato and a bucket doesn't cost much
1000$ 🤔🫵🤣🤣🤣
If you're spending that kind of money and do not get the output from your garden that exceeds the grocery store by 100 full then you don't know what you're doing
Right on
